I always had this fetish over coconuts. I am not sure when the whole thing started but every time I see coconuts, it reminds me of monkeys, palm and a paradise of naked hot men. Ok...back to reality. I never went on an island and actually had fresh coconut, but one day I was shopping at an Asian market and I came upon these. When I first saw it in the frozen section I got all excited. It's a pretty decent size and the coconut is actually encased in a plastic box. On the other side of the freezer adjacent to it is the same coconut; only those coconuts were not encased in a plastic box. The ones with the plastic box costs just a bit more. I assume they are charging for the box. The coconuts looked the same to me. I savored this delight on a very hot day in July. At first glance I thought there wereprobably only a few slices of coconut meat in there (or scientifically, the endosperm of the fruit) since it only cost me $1.95. To my surprise, there were a lot of meat in the coconut and it comes with some form of translucent jelly inside. The side of the coconut was also filled with meat which I easily scraped out. The only problem with this is that it can get kind of messy and sticky. Other than that, this was a sure delight.
